This is not a tutorial but a walk-thru of the way I go about making an image in Ultra Fractal.

You can download the zip for offline viewing.

I hope it helps & doesn't make UF even more confusing.

thank you for your tutorial! I started using UF4 and was getting discouraged cause I didn't like anything I was coming up with, but following your steps I was able to work with it some more and came up with this [link]

baby steps, but heading in the right direction :)

very cool. The tutorial lost me a bit with the tools but once I figured the coloring algorithm then the merging the art started to appear. It makes UF worth poking around in again. Thanks
